Kenyan pastime
NAIROBI, Kenya — Travis Tice teaches kids baseball in a country where few play the game. He works with the Kenya Redsox, a Nairobi-based organization that ministers to at-risk youth through recreational sports.
Tice, who serves with the Eastern Mennonite Missions GO! program, connects with kids who live in a nearby slum community and street kids who fend for themselves.

Denomination ordains first woman pastor
MBUJI MAYI, Congo — Communauté Evangélique Mennonite au Congo (Mennonite Evangelical Community of Congo) voted to ordain women as pastors in 1993. Nearly 20 years later, the decision became reality when Mimi Kanku Mukendi was included among the 16 pastors ordained July 26.
