Testimonies of peace from Iraq
Last year two significant stories from Christian Peacemaker Teams’ work in Iraq were published. Both are wonderful testimonies of peacemakers who took risks and made sacrifices — even to the point of death — as acts of devotion to the nonviolent God.
Journalist Greg Barrett’s The Gospel of Rutba: War, Peace and the Good Samaritan Story in Iraq highlights a five-person CPT group in Baghdad in the fall and winter of 2002-03. When asked by the Iraq government to leave Baghdad, they drove in two vehicles to Amman, Jordan.
