The Bluffton (Ohio) University Camerata Singers were in concert at Zion March 10. Participating churches in our Mid-Lee County Council observed March 13-19 as “Week of Christian Unity.”
On March 27, the Zion youth served a lasagna dinner, the proceeds of which will go for missions. After the meal, the congregation enjoyed a delightful concert by Bryan Moyer Suderman, from near Toronto, Ont.
A large group of Zion members helped Aaron and Audrey Ratzlaff load vehicles for their move to Kansas. Our prayers go with the Ratzlaffs as they continue their lives and spiritual journeys.
On April 2, a team from Zion church joined others from area churches to package meals for Kids Against Hunger. “They learned that working on a community project can be fun, and if everyone pitches in to do their job, it goes fast,” said Donna Vogel, youth sponsor.
Pastoral candidate Marcia Yoder-Schrock preached during worship on April 3, and has since accepted a call to minister at Zion church.
On April 17, the youth performed a Palm Sunday skit called “Jesus is Coming!” for our congregation. That evening they again performed the skit for a Mid-Lee County Council of Churches ecumenical service at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ. Besides the skit, music was provided by choirs and individuals of participating churches in preparation for Holy Week and Easter.
Fourth-grader Kenzie Krehbiel made a beautiful banner to hang in the church sanctuary during Lent-Pentecost season.
