Church dancing

By Mary Nussbaum Maplewood Mennonite Church, Fort Wayne, Ind.

In March and April we collected 40 boxes of crackers and 107 cans of fish for the Associated Churches of Fort Wayne. We also collected items for MCC health kits, and filled 92 kits.

On March 26, the River Dance Company, of which LenLen Schmell is a member, presented “In the Courts.” It is an evangelistic ministry that incorporates processional, choreographed, spontaneous, interpretive and prophetic movement and song.

On April 7, the youth and their sponsors did a great job of cleaning, getting rid of things, putting in order and recycling things from our supply room.

Care2Learn will meet in our church for Summer Academic Camp. Summer Academy is for students ages 5 to 18. Classes are offered in math, writing, art and kindergarten readiness.

On Maundy Thursday we had our soup and fruit supper, a re-enactment of the Last Supper, then singing and communion.

Birth: Farrell James, March 7, to James and Jana Sanders. He is the grandson of Jan Farrell.

Deaths: John Everett; Eileen Sprunger; Sadie Bittenbender and Sarah Scott.
